I do wish we could take the high ground of valuing life by showing all the ways that prochoice (or whatever) creates greater value of life. Teen pregnancies? How is that value life? They end up poor, uneducated and with lower birth weights which all correspond to mental health and other problems for the potential child. Conservatives think they are going to get a bunch of low-paid workers? No, they will get a lot of people who can't function at all. Death penalty for women who have abortions? Great way to increase our birth rate - kill women. Genius.

And it is a HUGE assumption that if we asked all zygotes, blastocysts, embryos and fetuses if they would choose to be born, a lot of them would say NO! I read about an OB/GYN who had women who wanted to end their pregnancies talk to to potential child (however the women wanted to do that) and tell the spirit or whathave you that it was a bad time, describe the circumstances the being was coming into etc etc. She noticed a high rate of spontaneous abortions ie: miscarriage. If the "unborn" get any clue about it, they DON'T all say yes.

Most first-world countries have protections for females as a protected class. Not the goofy US, nope, the USA decides to prioritize in non-specific ways how ALL humans are more important than females.

Indeed; and to make matters worse, the U.S. still hasn't managed to fully apply common law protections to women, because of the entrenched cultural and legal failure to recognize the woman-person as a full person, as a full subject.
