The most selfless people on the planet
Anti-choicers just gutted part of a landmark civil rights law because Planned Parenthood's mere existence pisses them off
Hey, yall! I apologize for the delay in getting the article on anti-choicers’ passion for punishing pregnant folks to you. There've been a couple of unexpected health emergencies in the Rogers household that I've been dealing with, but I'll get that article to you next week.
I want to take a minute to update you on the Supreme Court case we've been keeping an eye on: Medina v. Planned Parenthood South Atlantic. As I expected, the supremely radical supermajority justices issued a ruling siding with anti-choice South Carolina in what is one of the worst rulings to come out of this unprincipled, conservative-captured court. Like… it's baaaaad!
In order engineer their desired outcome, the Republican justices gutted a section of the landmark Civil Rights Act of 1871… in order to strip Medicaid patients of their right to choose their own doctors and of the right to sue states who violate their medical rights… all in order to allow anti-choices to defund Planned Parenthood and other reproductive healthcare providers.
Just let all of that sink in…
Anti-choicers are some of the most selfish people on the planet. It doesn't matter who gets hurt or how many people lose access to community-based healthcare, or even how many of Americans’ civil rights have to be trampled or just taken away altogether. These folks will do anything to satiate their pathological desire to stick it to Planned Parenthood. Anything!
Pure, unadulterated selfishness. Period.
Anyway, here's a great piece by Elie Mystal on today's ruling: “The Supreme Court Has Dealt Another Devastating Blow to Women.”
